I’m a wife, mother and naturopathic doctor. I live in San Diego with my husband, Dave, our beautiful daughter Valentina, and our two dogs – Klaus the Weimeraner and Harry Winston, the Calvalier King Charles Spaniel. I am the owner and medical director of an integrative medical practice called RestorMedicine here in San Diego where I work with all types of different conditions, from autism to preconception health care to Lyme disease. I started this blog as a way to share information that I’ve gathered along the way on a variety of things – nutrition, medicine, essential oils, fertility, parenting, work-life balance and a host of other things.
From a personal standpoint, this blog is a way for me to blend my medical/ work world with my personal/ family world. These past 2 years have been quite a transition, becoming a mother at the age of 41, trying to figure out how to run a practice, support chronically ill patients, have abundant quality time with my daughter, being a good wife and supporting my husband, and carving out enough time for myself and projects that I care about. While sometimes overwhelming, my life if full and exciting and rewarding. Becoming a mother has been the single most life-changing and wonderful thing I could have dreamed of. Through this blog I hope to share some interesting and useful things with you – I promise I won’t just blog about what I ate for breakfast! I’ll try to make it relevant and informative. I am also looking forward to sharing a bit more about who I am as a person. As a doctor, I sometimes feel the pressure to always “have my s**t together”. Not here! Here I will just be myself – the good the bad and the ugly! My life is exciting and amazing, but it can be messy at times. We’re currently on a journey to try to get pregnant again, and that’s a whole story unto itself.
So, welcome! Thank you for reading and following. Please be in touch with me, let me know what you’d like to read about and give me feedback on what you’ve seen so far. I’d love to get to know you too.
