Today we’re going to take a negative and turn it into such a positive. At convention this year, it was announced that doTERRA would no longer offer White Fir. While disappointing to many, doTERRA’s commitment to sustainability shines here, as White Fir no longer meets their standards and therefore will not be produced. doTERRA didn’t leave us hanging though, by any means. While we had to say goodbye to White Fir, we now have the new Siberian Fir! [Read more…]
Ok, this is the big one. Of the new oils added to doTERRA this fall, Copaiba (co-pie-EE-ba) is certainly one of the most versatile and unique. Safe for aromatic, topical, and internal use, Copaiba essential oil is likened to Frankincense for its usefulness.
Copaiba has a woody, smoky scent, and is derived from resin Copaifera reticulate, Copaifera officinalis, Copaifera coriacea, and Copaifera langsdorffii plants in Brazil. [Read more…]
Once upon a time, the only way to receive two of doTERRA’s most precious oils with through a yearly promotion. This story has a happy ending though, because those two oils – Jasmine and Rose – will be available starting October 2nd in prediluted rollers! The new Jasmine, Rose and Neroli Essential Oils make up the three new Touch Blends from doTERRA. [Read more…]
Just a few weeks ago, doTERRA held their annual convention, announcing several new wonderful products. Today I am happy to introduce doTERRA’s new blends, the Yoga Collection!
The Yoga Collection consists of three 5ml essential oil blends – Anchor, Align, and Arise. Their intended use is aromatic and topical. While this trio is entitled the Yoga Collection and do support effective yoga practice, do not be fooled – you need not be a yogi master to reap the benefits of these blends. With three very unique, individual scents, this collection is a must-have. [Read more…]
The back to school season is an exciting time! New classes, new friends, new experiences. We also tend to get much busier during this time, which means less time to dedicate to staying healthy. That’s where essential oils become such a valuable addition to the home. The possible applications for essential oils during this time are endless, but here are some favorite essential oils for back-to-school:
I don’t know about you, but I’m not crazy about some of the things that my daughter loves the most – bubbles, play dough, slime and the like. I don’t have a problem with her playing with them, but I worry about how they’re made and what’s in them. Plus, never mind that one of our dogs has a penchant for play dough and eats it right off the table if said toddler leaves it out. I love being able to make non-toxic play dough and bubbles for the kids – that way I know if the play dough ends up in their mouth (or the dog’s mouth), they’re not getting a bunch of chemicals. We also have fun making it especially when friends are over. Here are some easy recipes:
Citrus oils have such great properties – they’re uplifting, energizing and invigorating – and they are great oils for the diffuser to help everybody’s mood in the household. Now, tangerine essential oil is a permanent offering from doTERRA. It used to be an oil that popped up here and there as a special release, but now we can get it all the time, and enjoy its many benefits.
Summer is here! And with it comes hot, thirsty days, kids at home needing entertainment and lots of snacks, barbecues and picnics. Keeping it simple, healthy and tasty is key! You could make these fruity popsicles for summer snacks and keep them in the freezer to pull out on a moment’s notice, and they’re fun for the kids to make too. Avoid sugary ice creams and opt for fruit popsicles instead – you can use lovely, fresh, organic fruit and throw in some essential oils for even more health-boosting properties.
We have all heard how valuable essential oils can be in helping influence emotional states, I know many of us have experienced it personally. But for me it’s helpful to understand a little more about how essential oils influence emotions from a scientific perspective. I’m going to keep this really simple, but hopefully give you a little more information so that you can understand the process better. [Read more…]
Even here in San Diego, we’re seeing stories on the news about how this summer is going to be the worst on record for ticks. Summer also brings more fleas, mosquitos, flies and other tiny critters that you really don’t want biting you. Given the number of pathogens that any of these bugs can carry, prevention is key in avoiding the bites in the first place. Many people want to avoid the toxic effects of chemicals such as DEET for their family, and want an effective, natural insect repellent instead. I have a great one for you! [Read more…]
